No need to strive only for popularity. Do your favorite thing, even if it brings you popularity it will be only a big plus.

I think ppl want to be popular because they need other's attention, recognition, and approval so badly. I know a friend who prides in carrying the most expensive designer handbags and always show them off in front of me. I think she was telling me with her handbags that I am more successful than you. But later, after I read an article about replica Hermes, I discovered she wasn't carrying authentic bags the whole time. I feel kinda sorry for her for pretending to be someone she was clearly not.

Not really. It depends on what you're willing to do just to be famous. But as long as you can stomach it and the possibility of getting famous or popular is almost a 100% then go on with it.
