We need to replace the bench, etc. for the rented cottage, some oak materials have worked well, but its time is up.
So, what is the collective wisdom regarding replacement; we don't mind spending a hefty sum to get good things that will last a long time, I think the options are again oak, teak or... what? We haven't bought in maybe ten years, which firms should we avoid?
A year or two ago, the Council built a footbridge on the road, and I remember talking to the guys doing the work, they said it was made of American wood, and it's the hardest thing they've ever come across - it's a reddish color, but it might be a cure, it's hard to say. This seems to be going on for a very long time, any idea what it could be? |
