Every time I click on an action, I get the message "Input Error, Please retry."
Usually on the second time, the action goes through, unless I am trying to draw a card, in which case it will fail repeatedly. Sometimes, when I "retry" it _has_ given me credit for a card, and I wind up with two.

What is the problem? I've never had this problem with other games here.

It is usually an error that appears if you are double clicking and not single clicking. I don't see it in any of my hacienda games. What browser are you using?

I have that too. I can't join a passworded game. I click on join then try to quick type in the password but it refreshes before I get the chance. I just figure it's a mac problem /firefox < 000.1% of users so I live with it.

That code is written into the system, not specific to any game, so my guess is its a browser or user issue.

Just tried it on a windows system with firefox and had no problem. Either it's a mac issue or perhaps a firefox extension (adblock perhaps?).

Ok. I am using two different Windows XP computers, both with Firefox 1.5 (most up-to-date). I do not use an ad-blocker program on either of them. I have never had this problem with the other 25+ games I have played online, but those were all played on previous versions of Firefox.

I understand the difference between a single and a double click. That is not the issue.

Three out of the last four turns in game #9837, I have been given a random card as my fist action, thus limiting me to two actions. When I attempt to take them, about 75% of the time it takes two attempts to fully execute the action (I keep getting the "Input error - please retry" message). When this happens after clicking on "end turn," I have to take the entire turn over again.

Needless to say, I am losing this game most hideously.

I can't imagine what is causing this. I am in several current hacienda games and haven't seen this at all. I am using the same version of Firefox that you are.

The only time I have gotten the input error so far is if I redo my turn I get it(I am looking into this bug) and if I try to click on a second action while the first action is still processing (waiting for server). If you can give me any other information to try and track this down I would be glad to look into it.

Do you have any Firefox extensions that attempt to speed up your browsing, I know there is one that attempts to go down link trails in the background to cache pages and speed up future loads. If you have something like this installed that would explain a lot of your errors.

The input errors you are getting are generally caused by a page load when a command has already been processed. If your browser is trying to buy a card for you constantly it would explain a lot.

This is a total shot in the dark, but I thought of it so I put it out there.

Not sure about those, FasterFox is one i know that will do future cache work on page links. Those kind of extensions generally have ways of blocking out certain sites or file types.

I use Firefox, most recent version, with FasterFox, and I don't see this effect. I'm going on the theory that Jim is operating under a curse.

I haven't used fasterfox in a long time, so it was totally a theory. His bug is happening because of links being clicked, that's when that error pops up. I just don't know how those links are being clicked.

Ok it's definitely not any extensions in firefox. I uninstalled all of mine and no luck...still "Input error -- please retry!" comes up after I click "Join Game" for any passworded game. It's been like this forever so no biggie. Just a mac/firefox problem. To join a pw game one must use safari.

I'm also getting this error, but the steps to reproduce are as follows:

1. Lay tile
2. Buy random card
3. Lay tile
4. Restart turn
5. Try to lay tile in a different location -- input error

The workaround is to go back to Your Games and come back into the game through there.

I'm on Firefox 1.5.0.6, Win2K. A couple of extensions installed, but none of those mentioned thus far except AdBlock. All other games at SBW work normally for me.

You can get anytime you redo your turn. I am looking at how to fix that. You can also get around it by redoing your turn, then clicking on the game name in the page.
