MCV 802 (bonus for regions) kekeweb danbar1963 NoMoreCheese
MCV 803 (bonus for regions) Dobinator Pompkin Payton3434

The variants all take the form of an adjustment to the score at the end of the game, (which I will do manually).

Amun Re - the money bonus (6/4/2) will be deducted rather than added on.
Bus - bonus of 5 points for longest line (all ties get the bonus points).
Hacienda - points for markets will be removed at the end (NOT counted as negative just removed).
Hoity Toity - the collection bonus (8/4/0) will be deducted rather than added on.
Reef - points for yellow corals will be doubled.
Santiago - points for yellow plantations will be doubled.
Tikal - 4 x score for treasure at end will be deducted.
Wallenstein -
bonus of 3 points for having provinces in 1 region
bonus of 9 points for having provinces in 2 regions
bonus of 18 points for having provinces in 3 regions
bonus of 30 points for having provinces in 4 regions
bonus of 45 points for having provinces in all regions.

For Hacienda use map number 1 variant 2 (score as you go)
Reef and Wally basic games
Santiago basic no palms.
tikal end to end worker but not auction (sorry ahauwi1)

Please use the exact name shown eg MCV 503 (yellow counts double) as this will give you a reminder of the variant during the game. Please put the names in the comments section. Password tournament. As usual 6 pts for a win, 2 for second, 0 for third. Top three go into a one of each game final.

Good luck everyone!

Just to be sure - you haven't included the Tikal variant info at the bottom. Is there no score ever from the treasures? So you'll go through and subtract out treasure score at each scoring round? Or is it just at the end?

I don't really get the idea if you get a penalty for collecting treasures in Tikal, because you have no other reason to collect them except scoring (or in some cases clearing a tile for a camp).

Knew I would forget something!

I have corrected it now. Taking 4 x treasure score off will be much easier for me and should have almost the same effect (unless you get treasure late in the game).

It is simply a variant to change the gameplay. It will have the advantage of removing lucky treasure draws, but I suspect it will make the game less interesting overall. However it is only one game (or two for finalists) so it doesn't matter too much if it isn't great. Alternatively we may come up with some good variants which we could use in a longer tournament.

Actually it will be quite interesting to see just how much (or how little) space there will be left to create your camps, even before mid-game. Granted 3 player is less crowded than some of the 4 player ones I've been in, but even so it should be fun. Smile

As this is also my first tournament, I want to say a big thanks to Gaditus for hosting / drawing / scoring all this, thank-you!

Did I get of light only drawing you in 2 games, do you reckon? Very Happy

On of the advantages of having 9 players is that everyone gets to play everyone else twice - so no luck of the draw there - unless you get draw the expert at Hoity Toity I suppose. Laughing

Aaah, I didn't do the maths, I'm still in the 'everything is sooo much fun' phase I've been trying not to work everything out. Usually loses it's magic for me at that point, although not always.

Wallenstein I may give youa fight, but Bus isn't a favourite out of all 8 games, I must admit. Any tips on why I don't always understand why I can't seem to Vroom when there are people on my route, and empty buildings to go to? I think I need to play it some more. Smile

And before I go off-topic, when are more people gonna join these tourney games, lol. Smile

It usually takes a couple of days for everyone to realise that it has started. I generally give players a reminder when there is only one or two left to join.

To vroom a passenger on your line you need (on that line):

a building of the type passengers want to go to
a passenger who is not already at that type of building
to have chosen the vroom action
the clock not to be stopped leaving the building type the same as last round.

I am certainly no expert on the game. tphon did a good summary on Bus in the original multi challenge post here which may help.

A fight in Wally is what the game is about after all. And you shouldn't fight on a Bus. Laughing

My first game has finished, do we post the results here, or do you have an easy way of keeping track of our games?

In any case, Tikal MCV 702:

kekeweb 117
Payton3434 99
rico44 84

I'm still not quite sure where it went wrong but it was an interesting game without the treasures. Smile

I pick up the results every so often by checking the completed games list - so there is generally no need to bother posting them. I post a table showing current standings when I think enough results have come in to be of interest.

There is a new five player tournament looking for sign ups here.
