Djura and I are away for the next 5 days so wont join our games until we return. I also wont be checking to see who has joined etc until then either.

Hi all something that cropped up in a round two match - i wanted to make a suggestion. Somtimes its slightly advantageous to start first and occasionally a map gives a further advantage (none we have played so far mind). So if one player is lucky enough to start first in all 3 games how about 1 game is re created until the unlucky player starts 1 game. You'd need to pre agree which one but maybe suggest the V0 game to even it out a touch.

It's just the luck of the draw and tough if it doesnt go your way. I think it affects V0 and V1 more than V2 however all my games so far have been won by the starting player - more than coincidence?

Unfortunately for me, I've been player 2 seven times out of 9 Sad

Doesn't your circumstance help prove how important it is to start sometimes! I've lost more when starting 2nd too i'm not saying that we should control who starts just allow a 2-1 situation rather than 3-0 when it happens.

Maybe each pair can decide which way they want to do it before they start.

Am I the only one to be dumbfounded by this posting, let me go last every time in a 2 player game. Luckily avoided going first in 7 of my 9 games so far.

I'd happy to start second with 4 pampas ... starting position is just another part of the randomness of the start, and less important than the land and animals you get in my opinion.

The last set I lost I had terrible cards and little chance from the start ... whether I was first or second my opponent was going to take the game unless my mid game luck changed or he stuffed up.

Don't make the tournaments any harder than they have to be to organise and record keep!

I suspect being 1st player is an advantage most of the time, however not a particularly strong one in 2 player. In 4 and 5 player games it's more of an advantage.

I might delve back through League results, particularly in Division 1, and see how many of the games were won by first player. There should be enough data over a few seasons to get an accurate idea.
