In recent games, I have seen players use the 'Outbid in the Same Province' card on their first bid. Perhaps they believe they need to play this card immediately, but such is not the case.
If possible, I suggest that the advice to play that card not appear on the first round of an auction. If a player possessing the card gets outbid, THEN the option should be mentioned.
(The 'Bid Blockade' card is best used immediately, so the comment regarding that card should appear as it currently does.) |

I agree, the text accompanying the Outbid and Bid Blockade cards is a bit confusing. It implies that the player *must* play the cards at the beginning of the auction phase. While this is usually desirable for the Bid Blockade, it is often not desirable for the Outbid card. Perhaps the text offered when the card is available to a player should be clearer that it must be played before the player's next bid if he or she intends to take advantage of it. |
