As a side note, I believe the site's official ranking should take into account the amount of players in a game. It's obvious that you're chances of winning are higher on a 3-player game than on a 5 player one.

Thanks for the time you took to compile this information. The little details show that you took care in your job (like not including semis/finals since these are also biased against participating players - harder games against better players).

What about building a chess like ranking onto the site? The better the players you beat, the most points you get.

Obviously we are playing for fun and that's what it's all about. But it's fun when you can set a goal that transcends any single game... climbing the ladder sort of challenge for people new on the site =)

Both of the above methods of ranking make no allowance for finishing positions other than first. You might say fair enough, as it is all about winning, but I have given some thought to making an allowance so that finishing second is worth more than finishing last.

I have awarded points for 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc as follows:

5 Player 12 5 2 1 0

These are somewhat arbitary, but winning a 5 player game is worth more than 4/3 player games and the total points available per game is proportionate to the number of players.

I have then taken the average points per game and the following table is the result:
