In the intermediate scoring of our game the end of turn confirmation box said I would score 18 points for land tiles, which was correct. The actual scoring only scored 12 points. As I played 3 land tiles in my final turn before scoring it looks like it scored my position before my move rather than after it.

Unless we have the scoring all wrong! Smile

Mike

I think the scoring occured before you were able to place the three new land tiles. The green player triggered the scoring round, and since he was the last player neither you nor the yellow player could take further actions prior to scoring. The end of turn summary is correct -- if there was a scoring round now, then you would indeed score 18 pts for your land tiles (2 x 9 tiles).

the box shows what your score WILL BE if you end your turn
if you chose to redo your turn and made changes the new confirmation
box would reflect your new actions

OK, fair enough.

But why, when it came to my turn did it not show that a scoring had taken place at the end of the previous round? Points were still blank.

in a non-Variant 2 game if your last action of the turn affects your
score -- the confirmation box will show your score to that point

more info --
if your last action does not affect your score -- like buying a card
the confirmation box does not show your score

Actually, if your last action is one that can't be undone -- such as buying a card, then there's not really an opportunity to say: "here's what you score is/will be, do you want to redo or end your turn". In that case you get the "Buying a card will end your turn" prompt. Additionally, if you have "confirm actions" set to 'No' in your profile you won't see any message at all if you click on a card to end your turn.

Note that buying a card could potentially affect your score -- negatively. It could take you below the points-for-money threshold.
