In the game Alashar and I share, you obviously haven't noticed that I made 3 extra market connections to Alashar's 0 after the first half, and even points on water. So unless there is some amazing gang up in that game Alashar will lose by at least 10 pts!

True, but as it turns out, it doesn't change the expected makeup of the final.

Djura losing, which is theoretically possible, however would, so I wont declare the final until it's more certain she is going to win.

The tournament's initial rounds are now complete.

Congratulations to all who won games, and especially to those who made the final. The final standings are posted below.

Some random tidbits:

Smlait tied for the winning score twice, but lost on money on both occasions. These were the only ties.

Rebelslayer won 3 of out 6 games and lost the other three by 3,4, and 7 points.

The highest score in the tournament was scored by Djura in the last game to finish, 1C, with 191 points.

Snoozefest scored the lowest winning score with 76 points on 4D, in the closest of the tournament games with only 10 points separating first from last.

The biggest losing margin was 87 points in 2D (sorry Steffany), however in game 4C one player managed just 40 points compared to the winners 94.

The players in this tournament failed to respect the authority of the organiser and only let me win one game. In fact at no stage did I think I was in a winning position in any of my other games Sad

The final standings (total is how many points you lost by cumulatively)

Final to be played on Map 1, 3 games. No variant, variant 1, and variant 2.

Winner is player with most wins / smallest losing margin in the likely event of a tie on wins.

Another fascinating stat (for me). Excluding games actually won, my average losing margin (13) is the same as the overall leader (brianlcarr) Very Happy . It's just that he only lost 2 and I lost all 6 Sad - apart from that, we had identical losing margins!

Finals finished.

No variant: Djura runs away with it. It's close for 2/3 and 4/5.
Rebelslayer 125
almondralf 124
Djura 154
brianlcarr 136
gische 138

Variant 1: almondralf squeaks out a win over gische. There is a gap to #3, and then #4, and Djura is still waiting for the game to start.
Djura 80
brianlcarr 101
almondralf 122
Rebelslayer 112
gische 121

Variant 2: almondralf wins a close one over gische. 3/4/5 all staggered behind a little bit.
Djura 73
almondralf 83
gische 80
brianlcarr 69
Rebelslayer 66

almondralf with 2 wins is the clear champion. Djura netted one win. gische finished second in all three games and had the lowest points-from-the-top, including only losses or all games.

almondralf 2-1 -30 (losses) -26 (all)
Djura 1-2 -52 (losses) -36 (all)
gische 0-3 -20 (losses) -20 (all)
brianlcarr 0-3 -53 (losses) -53 (all)
Rebelslayer 0-3 -56 (losses) -56 (all)
