I think the endgame when you are too far ahead for anything but random chance to catch you up force you to buy out the land yourself rather than the animal deck to prevent this from occurring ... thats one of the reasons I've got a bit tired to haci ... |

What I am slowly endeavouring to do in the tournaments is work out which maps tend to end up in a long drawn out land buyout all the time, and then avoid them. It is ok if it happens occasionally, but for example the smaller maps ALWAYS end up going that way, so I try not to use them.
If you particularly dislike (or like) a map I choose, let me know. |

I would say it was more than random chance with Djura, as she had positioned water nicely and had many places to place land during the end game, while I was limited to few land tiles choices. Djura's money at the end is actually what gave her the win, as her one big land chain gave her 29 pesos, while I was maxed out on my land. Although face down land buys are frustrating, she placed the pieces just right for maximum options (most pieces ended up touching 2 waters). I do agree with Rebelslayer though that in V2 games you need to focus on buying out land rather than ending the game. |

I don't look at the forum often enough... tend to rely on Kanga rather a lot! Thanks Tom for fabulous games and while tenacity certainly played a part I was very glad of those pampas draws. Look forward to the rematch! |

ahauwi v koinski
start when ready.
It looks like being Kanga v Early_10 - I dont think Djura will pull this one out of the hat, but it should only be a couple of days before the result is certain. |

Kanga defeated Early_10 3-0, two of which were very close (less than 5 points), and in the third game, I had a 16 points halfway lead but won by only 10.
Kanga plays koinski in the final.
I've been short on time in the past few days so haven't posted the above result or created the final, but will do so shortly. Password, final. |

Kanga defeated koinski in the final, 2-1. The final margin in the decider was only 1 point, although I bought the animals out at the first opportunity to make it a bit closer than if I'd played on. All 3 games were interesting and thanks to koinski for the games. |
