I'll set up a game called "just for noobs" password "noobs". Have you read through the rules online?
The game reminds me of a cross between RA and Dos Rios somewhat

I've read the rules here and on BGG. I also just started a game w/ some buddies, but none of us have played so we are just fumbling through it.
Great, ahauwi1, would love to have you on board.

Thanks t_o_m9! I look forward to playing! Smile

Would you like me to join, with a bit more experience than the others I have a good understanding of how the game works and what is a good way to play.

yes, that would be nice ...

actually, Santiago is not a fun game when played against people who dont know how to play. It becomes essentially random, with the winner being the person most helped by the newbie's poor choices. So I hope to boost the skill level on this site to make the games more enjoyable!

Very true for Santiago, but true for most multiplayer games!

You can still enjoy Amun Re against weaker players. Hacienda, as long as one opponent is decent, is fine. Santiago, a few random bids, poor choices of offerings etc, and the game is uncontrollable.

It's probably even worse than playing Puerto Rico against clueless opponents, although at least it is not predictable who is going to be advantaged.

You can join since mfreidman hasn't joined and we can start another one for him. I know how you like to play though... make opponents offer more than they even have to appease you...

actually, I try to avoid 3 player, it's not even remotely the same game as 4 or 5 player. It doesn't really even help you much when playing the larger games. If you create a 4 or 5p game I'll join.
