I dislike V1 quite a bit, so I'd stay if it was that.
Map 65 is fine for me. I like V2 quite a bit, but I'd almost lean towards a normal game for the tournie.
Map 71 would be cool too, although I'm not sure if anyone has an advantage based on seating there.
All 5 games at once sounds good. |

If you wanted to get really wild and crazy, have 5 different maps, so that your 5 prelim games are with different people and a different map each time
PS - and 2 standard games, 1 V1 game, 1 V2 game, and 1 V1+V2 game, lol. |

I was actually thinking of this; more variety = more fun. |

Count me in for whatever. 5 different maps sound like fun. I like Variant 1 a lot, so I'd like to see that be part of it. |

I think it would be best to play all 5 games at once. It would take less time and keep everyone interested in the tournament.
If possible using different maps and/or variants for each round. It puts everyone on better playing field.
If there is room - I'm game for the tournament. |

Currently I have 21 players who have indicated they want to play.
I was going to limit it to 16, but the first hitch I have found is that I can't devise the perfect 16 player round robin where everyone gets to play eachother once. If someone else can do it, please let me know! Within the limitations of my reasoning abilities, I don't think it can be done.
Everyone seems to be happy to play all games at once. No strong preference arose for maps or variants. I was thinking of running each game as a different variant / map.
Two options now exist:
16 player tournament, with a draw that has most players playing everyone once, but with a few doubleups (best I can do, unless someone can do better). I'll take the first 16 players listed above.
OR
If we get 4 more, it would allow us to play a 5 player tournament under the same format (6 games each). My only hesitation is I dont think 5 player Hac is a good as 4 player, but it's still fun.
Anyone object to playing 5 player tournament? We still would need 4 more players... ask around... |

If you still need some players, I'd be happy to play -- any format or map is fine with me, it's all fun! |

I'd love to join in but only if my absence from this Fri through the following Wed is acceptable. |

I'd like to join the Hacienda tournament. Any format or rules options are fine with me. I vote against Variant 2, if that matters, but I will still play it if that is what is used.

I'm sure someone will be along to prove me wrong, but I think you can only do this with odd-numbered squares (ie, 9 players, 25 players etc).
I assume you have an algorithm for the 25-player tournament. If not, just shout. |
