10/90
2 2 0 0 NoMoreCheese (0)
3 2 1 0 docaction (-5)
4 1.5 2.5 0 rseulow (-11)
1 1 0 0 t_o_m9 (0)
2 1 0 1 powermorph (-11)
2 1 0 1 JM (-12)
2 1 0 1 Tzar-T (-15)
2 0.5 0.5 1 IBX (-9)
1 0 1 0 tphon (-5)
1 0 1 0 Knave (-5)
1 0 1 0 flaviorj (-14)
1 0 0 1 ats2630 (-5)
1 0 0 1 AdriaanPeters (-12)
2 0 2 0 Deden (-8)
2 0 0 2 yahkeh (-24)
3 0 1 2 Dobinator (-22)
The numbers are, games played, 1sts, 2nds, 3rds and after the name, total points behind the leader. (rseulow and IBX contrived to tie a game to make a mess of my formatting)
For the purpose of ordering the table, I have valued a game in hand as better than a second place.
In the case on a tie (eg tphon and Knave) the order is random (I used to use alphabetical order for this but someone complained - it might have been Zog, I can't remember).
If there is a tie in the final table, and it matters for purposes of progression to the next round or divisions in the league, the further tie breakers will be:
the game between the tied players (if there was one)
the quality of the opposition (ie the finishing position of the opponents of tied players will be compared).
Finally if you have signed up for the league you may like to read and tick the box to be advised of additions to this post.
If you have not joined the league, information is here. |

See above.
"For the purpose of ordering the table, I have valued a game in hand as better than a second place."
Obviously this will not matter in the final table as there will be no games in hand. However, when there are a few games to go, it can help to see who can win a couple of games and leap into the qualifying positions. |

Why is the tie only worth 1/2 a win?
Per the rules as they are writ, a tie means both players are winners. |

Hmm, that opens the doors to some serious collusion...
"If we both win, we both advance, lets arrange that!" |

Knave, you have a seriously dark mind.
So far as I know, no one has made a buck off a game of Amun Re on this site - people who need to cheat to win here are welcome to get their jollies at my expense. |

I hadn't really thought about this - it just seemed logical to score it the way I have, but I can see arguments for giving both players a 1st as well. In previous tournaments I had (arbitarily) awarded the win to the player with the most gold, because it was easier within my scoring spreadsheet - but I have fixed that now.
Looking at the rules it actually says "... then the tied players share the victory.", so giving half a point each doesn't seem to go against this.
I intend continue with the method I have used (ie sharing the 1st/2nd/3rd places in the event of a tie). |

Financial considerations are hardly a necessary prerequisite for unsavoury behaviour. Chess servers have been battling the scourge of players using chess computer programs for years.

While I admire your consistency, I may be compelled to declare some of your World Cup matches to be forfeited.
